Tourance tyres
Only tyres i have used on my triumph tiger 955i. I've had this bike from new in 2002 and am still using it today. I normally get 8000 m8les our of the back tyre and at least 13000 our of the front. On this bike they are really good in the dry and just as good in the wet. This is my 8th back and5th front so far. My friend has these on his honda varadero 1000 and says they are the best tyres he has had. I would highly recommend these to anyone who has a big adventure motorcycle

Its not until you put new tyres on that you realise what an awesome bike the GS1200Adv is
The old Tourance are the best adventure bike tyre by far. They last thousands of miles longer than the EXP, they don't drop halfway round corners like the ESP making your heart jump and upset the bike. Being fully loaded and two-up doesn't faze them. No better or no worse than any other tyre for punctures. You can actually ride off the edge of the tyre on corners and they never complain. They loved the track day at Brands, never over heating or fading when lapping sports bikes. Wet weather handling is super confident inspiring, you don't have to change your riding style when the seasons change.Off road is great specially on gravel but they do clog up in deep mud and spin up on wet grass. I ordered them on line from Flitwick M/c as they were competitively priced and well within 24hrs they were delivered and I had them fitted at a local tyre garage.

I love metzler tourances, can get miles and miles out of them and have had them on 4 GS adventures. The service from Flitwick was second to none. will definitely be back for some more.

Best road tyres for R1200GS
The ideal tyres for the R1200GS have probably yet to be made. That is, tyres that grip well and last well on the road and are reasonable vibration free, and at the same time can deal with rocks, sand and mud. Of all the road-biased tyres I have tried in ten years of 1200GS ownership, the traditional version of the Tourances are the best. They can clog a bit off-road but at least have no dead-end dirt traps like some of their latest rivals. Other than that, the only other slight wibble is that the rear starts to white-line a bit once the tread depth drops below 3mm. Overall, however, they are a very good tyre for the money.
